Defence Exports

Ministry of Defence, Department of Defence Production (DDP) is the competent authority to issue “Authorisation” for the export of munitions list items i.e. Items mentioned in category 6 of SCOMET List notified by DGFT vide Notification No. 05/2015-2020, dated 24.04.2017 and for the export of items specifically designed for military purposes. For export for testing and evaluation, participation in tenders, participation in exhibitions, and transfer of technology / software, “Authorisation” will be issued by DDP. Further, DDP is also competent authority for according “In-Principle” approval for exploring business opportunities abroad.
In order to get the authorisation for the export of munitions list item, the exporter is required to apply online at DDP Website (http://ddpmod.gov.in/myauth/ddp_noc/myauth/users/login.php) and upload the required documents along with End User Certificate (EUC) duly signed and stamped by the appropriate authority for processing the case. List of Documents required vary from case to case basis and same is elucidated in Standard Operating Procedure(SoP).
The following time frame is followed while issuing authorisation for export of munitions list items:
i). 04 weeks for the items contained in Appendix-II of SOP and
ii). 02 weeks for the items other than in Appendix-II of SOP.
